va tech

Everyone knows by now the incident at Virginia Tech that cost mamy lives. I gunman shot and killed 30+ students and injured many more. This is the biggest school schooting tragedy as I was reading on espn.com. This makes me sick and I feel very bad for that school and the victims. The one thing that bothered me is how the school handled the incident. They emailed the students after the initial 7 a.m. shooting. Emailed?! Probably not 10% of the school is at their computers at that time moreover checking their emails. The shooter then proceeded to the other side of the campus to an engineering classroom to kill more. The school should have sent out some type of emergency team or called the classrooms phones or went through an intercom or something! That, to me, is ridiculous, and I feel the school should have handled it better. This should spark the idea into school's heads to get some type of system mandated in case of an emergency like this one. This could be a project for students now that will soon be alumni that know how it feels to have this happen. I think the current ploicies should change as far as sending out emails. I think that is ridiculous.
